A. Lange & Sohne Releases Their New Product For 2011

A. Lange & Sohne released their new product for 2011, The Richard Lange Pour Le Merite Tourbillon.

This was a much anticipated watch by A. Lange & Sohne because many followers had their heart set on a minute repeater, which is a segment of the market that is currently unoccupied by what is considered the top watch manufacturer in the world behind Patek Philippe.

The watch measures in at 41.9mm housed in rose gold or a platinum case with a 36 hour power reserve. The movement is Lange's L072.1 carry Lange's famous fusee and chain mechanism to regulate energy transfer. This regulation mechanism is so complex and difficult to manufacturer that only one watch previous to the release of this one carried it.

The watch pays homage to antiquated Lange pocket watches that has a regulateur style face. It has an independently moving hour, minute and second hands. This is an absolutely exquisite timepiece offered by Lange at $193,600 for the rose gold variation and $233,600 for the platinum version.

    so exspensive! why do they show case it with leather bands? if i was paying that much i would epect it to be gold or siver. also do u know if at any point the hands touch??

    hands don't touch.

    The reason why they make it with a leather band is because it is the classic dress look. Metal bands are really more for sport wear (obviously persona choice) but it is the general consensus
